Currently watching YouTube videos and rating the competition. Can’t wait for this new microphone to step my game up. Danny Vola elevated the rap cover game recently. The learning curve is steep lately.
The Facebook page is a better way to start discussions and request songs. I will also eventually be posting mp3s to listen to there.
I want to take this opportunity to thanks everyone who is viewing the videos on YouTube and ryanburnsrocks.com. I love making the videos and the comments and ratings I’ve received to this point. I’m extremely grateful and I am looking forward to making more videos in the future.
Live Acoustic Show, Saturday April 10 @ The Cellar Bar
Once again I will be performing at the Cellar Bar on April 10th. The show starts around 10PM. I will go on around 11:30. The owner, Ryan, put together a great set with two other musicians. Maggy adeleye will be performing her oringal songs. Here is a link to her site: www.myspace.com/maggyadeleye. She will be followed by the very talented Nathan Paulus, who I have seen perform at Celler before. He draws a great crowd with his unique acoustic jams. I highly recommend checking both these artists out. Nathan’s music is linked here.
As always, I will be preforming an eclectic mix of 90s alternative, classic rock and billboard hip-hop and top 40 hits. I have several new songs that I will be debuting for this show that have not been posted to YouTube. Two brand new original medleys are on the set list! Please spread the word and let me know if you will be attending via my Facebook Wall.
I wanted to give a quick update on the event from last weekend in support of the Houston SPCA. Allie and Sam put on a great event. The event raised over $500 for the day which is amazing. The turn out was great. Icehouse was a great venue. If they served food there, I think I’d never leave. They had an inflatable bouncing tent, horseshoes, basketball course, arcade games, cold beer, and live music. It was amazing!
I’d like to throw a quick shout out to Carrie and Jan at On the Town for the write up and the pictures.
Welcome sign at the Icehouse
Allie and Sam. Thanks guys.
The crowd was feeling the music. I had a lot of compliments which I really enjoyed considering it was a brand new audience. The autotune worked flawlessly on the borrowed Marshall amp (thanks Kevin). Lollipop impressed, as always. The hit of the night was I’m On a Boat if you ask me.
What a beautiful day for some day-drinking.
Everyone was having a good time.
I felt extremely comfortable on stage. I LOVE playing these shows now. I look forward to every one of them. It seems like Houston is embracing me as much as I am embracing it. I love the accepting bar owners looking for new musicians and the new crowds and their willingness to sing along.
Here’s Duke in his bow tie. What a fashionable pup!
SATURDAY SATURDAY SATURDAY! FEBRUARY 20th @ The Cellar Bar in Houston, TX
Chris Roff will be opening with some classic rock jams. Chris is one of the most naturally talented musicians I’ve had the opportunity to play with. He and I used to play in a band in Dallas for a short time and now we are playing together again in Houston. Things should get kicked off at 9PM or so. Of course The Cellar will have it’s normal specials and great service (Drink Specials: $2 Lone Star Pints / $6 Lone Star Pitchers / $3 Shot Specials). I’ll be playing many of the songs featured in videos from previous posts. I’m planning on a 2-3 hours set. If you need directions: http://schmap.it/1c7bky (feel free to retweet). And a Facebook invite just in case.
